name: Kida (pronounced "kee-da") Rosewater
nickname: occasionally, she is called 'Kid'
gender: female
age: twenty-one
hair: her hair is rather long, extending past her shoulder blades. it is the color of dark wheat and is soft to the touch
eyes: a dark brown, resembling the color of mocha or dark chocolate
skin: fair
build: she is relatively short in height (about 5'4), but not devastatingly so. she is lean and thin, moderately flat-chested. her line of business keeps her fit, and her lack of a proper eating schedule has left her slender.
personality: Kida is an independent individual with a generally reserved personality. She is vigilant, as her occupation has taught her to be, and likes to keep a handle on most situations. She easily reads others, while remaining a closed book herself; though she might not like it, she can adapt fairly easily to most unexpected changes in circumstance. She holds her own fears and pains inside, and holds her well-being at arms length. She has taken on the role of stereotypical hunter rather well.
However, she isn't as easily cruel and heartless as others. Sometimes, she contradicts her own personality in that, when the scenario arises, Kida takes compassion on people. This is both surprising to not only herself, but to whoever happens to be around to witness it. Generally, it is a misconception pushed upon her that, due to her reserved nature, Kida is cold and ruthless. But she's not really like that at heart - it is merely a stereotype that she has learned to take on and off when the need arises.
history: she's not prone to talk about it, but Kida, like most hunters, has a reason for beginning the lifestyle. her father was taken from her and her mother at a young age due to a sickness that all but destroyed is lungs. Kida lost her mother to a vampire attack when she was away, coming back to find her mother's mutilated corpse. anger and a vengeful spirit directed towards the vampire who took her last remaining family member, Kida entered into the business of hunting down the vampires.

name. Reuben Hart
nicknames. Benny, Remy or Hart.
age. appears 24, is 119
gender. male

hair.dirty blonde
eyes. dark green
height. 6ft ( 183 cm )
build. althletic
markings. two cuts on his chest from a close call with a hunter.

personality.Reuben is a flirt who often doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. He likes to ignore the elephant in the room and continue on with life, even if it means being composed and carefree. For a vampire, he shows varying amounts of control on both his thirst and temper, having learnt that control in an important key to his life. At times he can be playfully sarcastic and challenging for a good laugh, but when it comes down to business he doesn't tend to fool around. If you want the job done, it will be done no matter what.
Aside from his playful banter he can be a kind, caring and loyal man.

history. The only important moments in Reuben’s life would probably be the day he transitioned from being a human to a vampire reject. During his transition the bloke (or woman) who turned him left him to discover what had happened to him alone. Having simply woken up on the floor of his home with no recollection of how he ended up there, Reuben was quick to dismiss any wild ideas. Thinking he had simply gotten into a fight at the local bar. After he cleaned himself up, he dropped into the local bar, praying that he might remember. He didn’t. Instead, he blacked out and was awoken by a mature vampire.
She took pity on him and quickly taught him the tricks of the trade, showed him how to feed took him under her wing for a few years before a group of vampires separated them. He didn’t bother looking for her after that night. Since then he has travelled, fed and crossed paths with some very unruly beings.

additions. he wears a white gold ring that allows him to walk around during daylight.

(Oh gosh hope this is alright c: )

The night dawned cool and crisp, the air devoid of any cloud or other obstruction of the celestial bodies that decorated the nearly black canvas. The moon was waned to it's third quarter, and the silver stars twinkled and blinked like permanent satellites. In all, it was a lovely night, perfect for paintings or pictures. But that was not the intent of the young woman who walked alone. To the average human being, she might look either normal, or someone not to be trifled with. The latter guess would be the most accurate. Kida was a vampire a hunter, and currently she was out scouting the night. This was her turf, her territory, and it was her job to keep it clear of festering vampires who might be out for a drink of blood. Strapped to her side was a gun, made with special, wooden bullets constructed completely for the purpose of bringing down drinkers of blood. Hidden within her boots were blades blessed by a priest - also weapons for the tearing down of a vampire's defenses. Although the blades would by no means kill a vampire, it would certainly weaken one enough to give a very clear advantage to the hunter.
Clad in a parka coat, the hood pulled up to cast a dark shadow over her face, the huntress listened and searched for any signs of vampire play. Her ken gaze flicked from one shadow to the next, making sure that there was nothing of danger in her path. Should she find a vampire, then she would surely eradicate it - that was how things should be. If she didn't keep her territory clean, then the other hunters would surely be on her back, and she truly didn't want that. She preferred to keep herself distant from the pack of other vampire hunters, as she preferred to work alone in this .... strange industry.

Lifting her head up, Kida breathed in the cold night air when she heard the sound of potential vampire ruckus ahead. Moving quickly, quietly, Kida headed in the direction of the sounds, her hand coming to rest on the holster which held her gun. It seemed that, despite the beauty of the night, red was still destined to stain it.

just act casual.
Letting out a deep breath he didn’t realize he had been holding, Reuben took the time to examine the delicate woman he was feeding from. One of his toned arms were wrapped around her thin waist to support her weight and another carefully cradling her precious face as she drifted off into unconsciousness from blood loss. Despite the cool air and the odd occasional breeze that swept through the park, it was safe to say that both parties were having an amazing night. Okay, that was an utter lie, it was safe to say that Reuben was thoroughly enjoying his night.
Slowly tilting her head to the side to examine his animalistic work, a small sigh escaped his tainted lips. “I got you good didn’t I darling?” Reuben muttered, a frown causing his facial features to scrunch up in pity. Taking a few seconds to appreciate his work, Reuben decided to cut the slack and finish off his meal. Completely aware of how messy he was being.

Having finished her off, Reuben didn’t spare any attempt to be courteous and simply dropped her on the damp grass. Meters away from the cold, cracked concrete footpath that the humans would soon use once the sun came up.
Closing his eyes for a brief second Reuben made an attempt to focus on his surrounds as his fangs retracted. A breeze was blowing through the trees causing them to ruffle together, small creatures scurried around the in frenzied patterns and the faint sounds of cars on other streets carried in the wind. Taking a deep breath in Reuben could have sworn he could smell a human close by, surprisingly, he couldn’t detect any traces of vampire. Fabulous.
Opening his green eyes, he skilfully used his thumb to wipe off any remains of his meal. Taking a quick minute to assess the current condition of his cleanish clothes. His white long sleeved V-neck was stained by the spills of his meal, so much so that he could uncomfortably feel the damp shirt stick to his torso, making the chilly environment around him more noticeable. His simple black jacket, aged jeans and a pair of worn all-stars appeared to remain dry.

Seizing the opportunity he walked away from his mess, whistling a short tune as he did so

Re: apples & red

Post  red; on Mon Jan 26, 2015 7:57 am

Kida wondered over activity going on, alerted to her mostly by the hunter instinct that is slowly instilled into anyone who takes on the role of hunter. Hunters of vampires were forced through their work to drop some of the aspects that made them human - things like emotional thinking and bits of their own humanity. They were more human than vampires, but less than the average person found on the side of the road. It was hard to explain, but the hunters of vampires had to level up to meet their prey, and this often entailed things that some might consider a loss. It wasn't, because at least the hunters were able to stand between humans and vampires fairly effectively. The job itself had its faults, and it wasn't every time that a human managed to be saved, but at least there were some who had been rescued. This thought led Kida to wonder about this night in particular - would any humans be saved, or would they be lost to the fangs of an undead killer? This question was common, but there was no use in asking it to herself if she didn't plan on pursuing its answer.

Coming upon the woman, Kida hissed a quiet breath as she crouched down to the lifeless heap. It didn't take an anthropologist to realize that this woman was indeed dead. The puncture wounds on her neck oozed with blood - the likes of which stained the surrounding skin, as well as her clothes. Her eyes were closed, face set into an expression that rivaled the fear of being fed upon with the relief of death. That was another thing that always caused curiosity in Kida: the expressions of the dead. Some of them were contorted in the fear and pain of their demise, and others looked almost calm, like they fully accepted the fact that their life was being drank away. It just went to show the diversity of humans and the way they conducted themselves and their thoughts. Interesting. However, Kida did not have the time to focus on the nuances of human mannerisms. Judging by the body, the vampire could very well be somewhere close, and she had every intention on catching said vampire. So the huntress stood, and, after glancing around her surroundings, headed off in search of the vampire.

It felt like forever until she managed to find him, but Kida could not deny that the guy with the shirt stained in blood had to be the vampire. No human would walk so casually with blood on them - no, instead they would cower and hide in case someone found them. Vampires just didn't seem to care.
Reaching down, Kida withdrew a blessed blade from the inside of her boots. She didn't even need to get that close to the vampire honestly, because she had excellent aim with throwing knives. Which is exactly what she did. Kida aimed quickly and threw the blessed knife, watching as the silver blade turned over and over as it sliced through the air at a fast velocity. It's targeted aim? The vampire, of course.

gettin' rusty old boy.
Using his enhanced sense Rueben was able to vaguely track the whereabouts of the human he had noted a moment earlier. He understood that a normal reaction to a dead body would have resulted in screaming, crying and maybe the occasional cry for help. He couldn’t be going deaf, the idea itself was highly illogical. Had humans stopped caring about each other? Pausing for a fraction of a second to contemplate the idea for a minute, a small chuckle escaped Reuben’s lips at the idea. No, of course not. Human come in all different shapes, sizes and mentality. If someone ignored a dead body, it was definitely for a reason.

Having stopped whistling Reuben was off in his own world. He was quite unprepared for the oncoming object that had been thrown at him. “Mother of –“ Reuben growled, stumbling forward ever so slightly from the impact of the sharp weapon. On instinct his fangs appeared, he wasn’t expecting the pain to hit him for another few seconds. Although this told him one thing, he’d ran into a hunter. An uncomfortable burning sensation slowly began to spread around the wound, his eyes squeezed shut momentarily in pain. Shit, he was getting rusty. Think Reuben think! Opening his eyes he cautiously turned around to face his unknown assailant while forcing himself to control his breathing. Stubbornly attempted to ignore the pain and stand straight, he just managed to settle for hunching forward. His green eyes eagerly scanning the area in front of him in search of his attacker – the hunter. Aided by the light of the looming moon and a few dimly light street lights in the distance humbly provided. His fiery gaze was drawn towards a slim dark figure, their face shielded by a hood, making it hard to distinguish any personable features, even with his sight.

“That’s a new way to say surprise, a simple boo would be alright” He reprimanded, his right hand grasping the weapon that was comfortably lodged into his upper torso, closer to his left shoulder than he would have liked.

Re: apples & red

Kida watched the vampire with a narrowed gaze, anticipating his next move once he had realized that there was someone hunting him. Vampires could be just as unpredictable as normal humans, only with a bit more bite behind them (no pun intended). Vampires, when attacked, would either return the affront, or would turn tail and run. If they stayed to fight, then it was generally easier for the hunter to finish the job, because, when they ran, they were inhumanly fast. This proved an issue for any hunter who was on foot, and was even a bit of a problem for those who were chasing down the vampire through mechanical means. If you were in a car or on a motorcycle, losing the vampire was just as easily if they left the street - but that's not particularly important for this current situation.
In a simple movement, Kida had removed her gun from its holster and now stood perfectly poised for shooting the vampire should he come near her. Though she didn't like to think about this too much, Kida could think back to the days when she was first learning how to use a gun. Her aim had been dreadful, and the recoil had been surprising. It was embarrassing to think about for the most part, especially if she took a look at how far she'd come now. To think that there had once been a time where Kida struggled to hit the target was almost shameful; however, she also realized that it was nothing to fret over, because she wasn't like that anymore. Spending all this time hunting vampires, Kida's aim had improved significantly. Now she was contending with the best hunters in town, so she had obviously gotten better at her work over the years. This was another reason why she could stand before a vampire and act so confidently in her ways. Throwing a blessed blade at him? No problem - done it before. Shooting him? She could only hope that was how the night played out.

"Sorry about that," she replied simply, most obviously lying. "I guess I got excited." Simply catching the vampire's attention by words would not have given her the advantage that the blade did. Grabbing his attention by lodging a blessed blade in his torso was the best way to do things - at least, in her opinion.
Moving towards the vampire, ever ready to next lodge a bullet into his heart, Kida inclined her head to the side a little. "You're the one who killed the girl, yes?" She didn't need an answer to the question - she knew it was him. But having him confess would just further install her resolve to wipe this one out. It was, after all, her job to kill vampires. The task could become a little difficult if you didn't first have a bloodied body to use as a starting point, but it could be done. As much as she didn't like to see other humans dead, it did make it easier for her to track down a vampire. And of course, the blood staining his shirt had been an amazing giveaway to even the more oblivious of people.

It had been a few years since he had ran into any trouble involving a hunter, in fact, it had been a few years since he had been followed at all. Should he feel honored that they happened to cross paths on this cool, mystical night? No. If anything he felt an underlying urge to eat the wicked human and leave the mutilated body in an unwanted heap on the cold, rough ground for the police to find the next morning. He really should be more civilized though, the thought caused a simple smile to appear on his face, shortly followed by an annoyed eye roll. Be civilized Reuben! Don’t be a jerk, you wouldn’t want to be greedy now… or would he? Taking a few measly steps forward, Reuben observed the lone hunter as he/she is aimed a gun at him. Examining their stance and posture as they handled the magnificent weapon, his smile growing as she spoke. A woman? Perfect. “I would hate to see you truly excited love,” he quickly shot back, shortly followed by a playful wink.

Fully aware of that the blade was blessed, a subtle hint that alerted him of the possibility that this hunter possess far more experience and knowledge than a mere amateur. Reuben wasn’t sure if he was going to run or stay and mess with the female hunter for a while, at least until he properly healed. The chances of him healing around her were slim to none if he stayed. Yet a part of him couldn’t resist the danger or thrill that she brought to the night.
Contemplating his night, Reuben couldn’t help but tempt fate and stick around. Within seconds of deciding he was already speeding around the park, feeling a rush of cool air blow against his body in waves before he came to a halt a few meters behind the female hunter. Attempting to remain as quiet as possible before he continued their little conversation, if one could call it that. “Yes, that was me. Guilty as charged! Was it the mess? The petite thing didn’t seem to have a bit of a fight in her before she accepted her fate, I would like to think she was one of those ‘groupies’, makes the guilt process much easier love.”

Pausing for a matter of seconds, Reuben daringly took a few bold steps closer towards the hunter. Unafraid of what her absolute worst could be, if his conclusions were right. Hunters merely desired to wipe out the vampire population in total, make them an unofficially extinct race – since the majority of people foolishly believe that vampires are mere myths or scary stories you tell your children at night to make them stay in bed, inside the safety of their home. Shaking away his old thoughts, Reuben took the opportunity to lunge forwards, hoping to take down his attacker and take her breath away – not in a good way.

Re: apples & red

Kida observed the vampire with a relatively bored look upon her hidden face. Honestly, this vampire seemed to be more trouble than he was worth, just be looking at him. Perhaps she was wrong, but Kida didn't think it was even a possibility. Vampires were as diverse as humans, and this one seemed to enjoy toying with not only his prey, but also with the hunters who chased him down. At least, this was what the look on his face was telling her. Kida wasn't perturbed, either, as she had dealt with a myriad of different vampires before. Cowardly ones, serious ones, vampires who liked to play - you name the type, Kida had dealt with it before. It was always a gamble as to which one she would come across - sometimes picking up hints by the way they fed prior to actually coming face-to-face with them. The thing that interested her most about the different personalities of the vampires was that it generally enabled her to tell how much experience the individual blood-sucker had, giving her a bit of an advantage. Which was what she was doing then: trying to decipher just how much of a challenge this vampire was going to be to her. It wasn't like his age had anything to do with it, because she was well aware that vampires were often many times older than what their appearance suggested. It was all about studying their posture, the way they carried themselves, how they moved - that sort of thing. That would betray just how old they really were, how good they would be in a fight.
Kida narrowed her eyes into a searing glare at the vampire's response, not in any way appreciating his comment. This kind of vampire, the flirty, cocky sort, generally did more to irritate Kida simply by personality than by fighting mannerisms. But it was a vampire nonetheless, and no matter how agitated she became, all it would do was add kindling to the fire.

Watching as the vampire sped around the park, Kida did not appear to be amused nor frightened by his quick movements. Actually, she felt more as though she was dealing with a child than anything else, and watched with a heavily unamused expression. Turning her head to watch him with a steady gaze, Kida eventually ended up having to turn around in order to keep him in her sights.
His words caused a small grimace to slash across her face. So the girl hadn't put up much of a fight, huh? Some people did that... It was like they recognized their situation, accepted that it was dire and that their chance of survival was basically nonexistent, and died without even so much as a struggle. Was it brave? Tragic? Kida didn't know, didn't really care. The way that the victim died was not directly related to her, nor did it have any sort of influence on how she would dispose of the vampire. All a victim's body did for Kida, was give her a general direction or clue as to where the vampire had gone, or how long it had been since it had been in the area. There was no point fretting over a victim, because they were already dead, and the only way they were coming back was as another vampire. Should that happen, Kida would just take them out too.

"It was surprisingly clean compared to other vampires," she responded bluntly. "I'm sure the authorities will have no problem cleaning it up." As she spoke, Kida kept a wary eye on the vampire as he moved closer, not moving of even fidgeting in her own spot. If he wanted to come closer, that was a-okay with her. She'd just kill him.
As if on cue, the vampire lunged at her. Kida sidestepped him, managing to avoid his tackling grasp by an inch or two. Recovering in the blink of an eye, Kida turned and fired a shot at the vampire. She had been moving fast in an attempt to avoid the vampire and not fall to the ground, so she wasn't sure if her shot had fired true. If it did, it certainly would not have pierced his heart, instead probably embedding itself into his abdominal area instead.

Reuben put no effort into impressing the deadly woman he was conversing with, what was the point? They’d do a little dance, maybe talk about vampires before they eventually separated. That was how routine clashes often went with hunters, something along the lines of no blood no glory. From what he could see she wasn’t impressed with his childish chat, from experience a limited amount of hunters got a kick out it, they lost control over their temper and therefore their form. Eventually, everyone loses control in the end, the difference between each being is at what point do they snap? How to make them break and crumble like old, worn buildings. Once the residents leave there is nothing but an empty shell left, if you talked about humans that way, it would be what some call the ‘soul’ or ‘essence’ of a human. Once it’s gone, they can change into cruel, bored and superficial beings.

To be honest, Reuben hasn’t participated in a fight for quite a long time, nearly twenty years. He grew tired of the expression ‘kill or be killed’, ignoring the obvious factor of killing the odd human every now and again, that tended to be a result of carelessness on his part.  This simple fact was brought back to his attention as he missed his target, immediately rolling out the tackle like he had been taught. Maybe he should stop underestimating females? It was awfully sexist of him. He should have expected the shot. Should have ran when he had the opportunity. As the gun shot went off and a piercing pain ripped through his abdomen, he struggled to perfect his roll and ended up lying face down on the cold hard ground. His eyes squeezed shut in pain, his fist clenched, straining the skin along his knuckles.  Inhaling, he let out a short pained laugh, his old British accent slipping through. “My apologies, madam, it appears that I severely underestimated your skills and therefore your experience. Would it be possible, before you we end this unfortunate quill. If you could tell me who hired you?” Reuben asked, his breath labored as he stubbornly pushed himself through the pain.

Her shot had remained true, if maybe a few centimeters off target. Gritting his teeth together, he offered a response to their earlier conversation, bidding himself some more time. “Cheers. Hopefully it wasn’t a vile sight,” He belated replied, forcing himself up. Placing his hands on the cold, firm concrete he began to push himself up. His green eyes focusing on the wicked woman, carefully observing her. If she would honor him with an answer, he would be quite grateful, yet it wasn’t necessary. Taking a second to force himself up onto his needs, Reuben made no attempt to run. Instead, he place a free hand over the bullet wound in mild fascination.

Kida inclined her head to the side as she watched the vampire roll, only to remain on the ground. The fact that her bullet had embedded itself into his abdomen was nice and all, but it wasn't his heart so she was a little disappointed in herself - despite the conditions under which she had fired the shot in the first place. Even so, the stomach was better than nothing. Should he have been a human, the vampire before her would have needed to seek immediate medical attention. Being shot to the stomach wouldn't kill a person right away, and instead they would bleed out painfully over a matter of days. It was one of those locations that, if you wanted to kill someone but you didn't want to do it quick, would be a good choice. Kida had never had to kill another human before, but she knew enough about the biological side of human life to understand what to do to hurt a person. Vampires might be her forte, but it was a good idea to learn a bit about humans too - since she was one herself, and because human enemies were just as likely as vampire enemies.

She wasn't sure whether she should be insulted or not that he had assumed someone had hired her... She wasn't some sort of vampire assassin, and she wasn't a mercenary either. No, she just really enjoyed hunting down vampires and bringing their eternal life to an abrupt end. Well, no... She didn't enjoy it, she just saw it as a necessity to keep other people safe. Either way, Kida knew it wasn't an illogical thought that perhaps she had been hired by someone to hunt him down and kill him. This thought branched off to another, and she wondered what he might have done that would make someone want to hire someone else to kill him. Grudges were a marvelous thing, but Kida was no delivery girl. She wasn't going to settle someone's grudge for them, she would not extract revenge for another person. What she did she did out of her own will.
"Don't choke on your pride, no one sent me to kill you," she replied simply, sounding a little bit miffed that he had assumed himself someone worthy of being assassinated. He was just a vampire - not exactly someone worthy enough to buy his death. At least, not to Kida's opinion.

Stepping forwards to the vampire, Kida remained careful, though her posture spoke of confidence. Her glance flicked from the vampire's wound to his face, quirking an eyebrow at him as she sighed quietly. She wondered whether or not she should just kill him right here, or perhaps have a bit of fun. Stopping a few steps away from him, Kida raised her gun, pointing it at his chest where his heart was located.
"What's your name?" She asked. Kida was a name person - she enjoyed names and their meanings, and tried to refrain from killing her victims before she knew their names. It was like some sort of rite of death that she went through every time. Glancing at the handle of her gun, Kida's eyes flashed with a sudden thoughtful look. Shaking her head slightly, Kida turned her gaze once more back to the vampire before her.

Keeping his eyes fixated on the woman in front of him, Reuben contemplated getting up and making a run for it. Recover for a few hours, maybe have another feed and avoid another unfortunate run in with the hunter or hunters. Was she waiting for backup? At the thought he quickly scanned the area around them, checking that no one was sneaking through the trees or lurking in the shadows. There were no mysterious shadows though, no unnatural figures or traces of disturbed landscape, satisfied with his surveillance check he returned his focus to the hunter before him. His head tilted to the side as he gave her a once over, checking to see if he could distinguish any other weapons she might have hidden underneath her clothes. He knew he should prepare for any ambushes or further attacks, should being ideal.

The sound of her voice quickly brought him back to reality and he glanced up, a disbelieving smile crossing his features as he listened. “It was a mere question, don’t choke on your assumptions, human” Reuben retorted, not meaning to insult her with the term human. In all honesty, he thought it was a kinder term to use compared to woman. Yeesh, that would get him into trouble. Licking his lips out of habit, Reuben took a look at the bullet wound. He would definitely heal once he got the bullet out, for now he would have to tolerate the pain until further notice. If he could speed things up with this woman he could definitely get on with his fabulous night, so far if he either escaped or die he’d be fine – apart from the whole dying part. Maybe he could even play dead, but she was definitely intelligent, there were no chances of him pulling off such an act in front of her.

As she stepped closer, Reuben could feel his fangs slowly slide down from their hiding spot. His ears tuned in on her heartbeat and his eyes quickly flickered towards her hand. Ignoring her pulse for a minute Reuben glanced at the gun, examining the fine weapon as best he could from where he was kneeling. Fixing his posture he slowly repositioned himself so that he was standing, making sure to keep his movements slow so the hunter wouldn’t interpret it differently.  Always jumping to conclusions. Standing up straight with his shoulders back and one hand on the bullet wound he sighed, “The name’s Reuben Hart.” He calmly answered, moving his head around to hopefully see what she might look like underneath her dark hood.  “If you wouldn’t mind,” Reuben started, using his speed to move forward and place a hand on her wrist that was holding the gun, standing to the side of it so he would be out of direct firing range. A sudden wave a cheekiness hit him, “It’s getting late and I’m guessing we both have things to do in the morning.”

It didn't take her but a second for Kida to figure out that the vampire was looking around to see if there were any other hunters. The action brought a smirk to her lips, as Kida rarely had anythin to do with the other hunters. They tended to group together, working as a pack... but Kida could never get herself to cooperate with them. She had never been able to do that in a way that was efficient to her. Working alone had proved faster and therefore better - so that's what the huntress did. However, even she would admit that the vampire was smart for looking around. Had she been any other hunter out there, then the chances of there being reinforcements would definitely be higher. But no, there wasn't any hunters coming to back her up or help her out, not unless some other hunter just happened to be strolling through the park and realize what was going on. Hopefully that wouldn't happen, because even Kida would recognize that as an inconvenience instead of a help.

Kida shrugged her shoulders, seemingly unaffected by the vampire's words. "Fair enough," she responded simply. The word he used to describe her didn't exactly irritate her either. Kida was human - that was what she was, so it didn't bother her to hear herself addressed as such. Also, she had encountered many a vampire obviously, and basically every single one of them had addressed her as such. At least, the ones who had been allowed to live long enough to talk. Sometimes, a game was fun to play along with, but Kida did enjoy getting it over with quickly so that she might be able to move alone with her night. She didn't like to be held up, but tonight seemed to be a special exception for her. Kida wasn't sure if she was annoyed or indifferent. It wasn't like she had anything else planned for the night, so she might as well spend it doing this. What better way to spend the night than by having a nice chat with a vampire before shooting a bullet into his heart. Fun times...

As the vampire stood, Kida's stance didn't change. As it was, she had a sort of relaxed vigilance going on, and she wasn't prone to change that just yet. She was wary of the vampire, but tensing herself up over every move he made would certainly not be of help to her. If she got all tensed and stressed, then mistakes would likely be made. She didn't really like mistakes. Once the vampire was close - too close for comfort - Kida turned a narrowed gaze up at him. So his name.... How nice. Reuben was, surprisingly, a name that she hadn't heard that often. Either way, she thought it was a nice name. Too bad no one would remember it once she'd shot him. That being said, she would admit it would be difficult to kill him right now due to his proximity and the fact that he stood next to her instead of in front of her.
"My schedule's clear," she commented casually before using her other hand to throw a punch to the vampire's face. She followed the action up by leaning down quickly to her other boot to retrieve the second blessed blade. The fast movement had served to remove the hood from her head, revealing her face as her stare searched for the vampire, prepared to throw the other blade at him.

A small part of him was tempted to say ‘good human’ and give her a tap on the head before sending her off on her way, ignoring the childish temptation he nodded. Acknowledging her response with a simple nod, being oh so courteous. Yeah, right. Taking the moment to continue to search for any weapons, Reuben barely parted his lips, wanting nothing better than to rip the hood off and feast. Yet he controlled himself and met her gaze, his own fiery gaze crossed hers for a few seconds before they focused on her attire. Weapons… right focus man. She’s trying to kill you. Right… death. Oh shit death.

“Oh, that’s awfully boring, you’d think someone like yourself would be busy. Hunting and all.” He muttered, no longer feeling the need to speak up as they were so close. Should he bite her? If he did, he imagined she would make sure to make his life a living hell before she ended it. If she was kind enough to do so. At the thought an odd chuckle escaped his lips. Fortunately for the wicked huntress Reuben misjudged her speed, her punch managed to clip the side of his face, earning a sharp hiss to escape his lips and his hand grip to loosen. Letting her wrist go completely and taking a quick step back, he flashed his fangs out of instinct, “I’m sorry to say this love but I don’t hit girls.”

Using his speed once again, he attempted to sneak up behind her, wanting to desperately bite the pretty girl. Once her hood fell, he managed to briefly catch a glimpse of her face. Blonde hair, mocha coloured eyes and a rather, surprisingly, what he would deem as an innocent face. For a second she could have appeared to be a young woman, not a wicked huntress he was fighting.

The thing about hunting vampires, is that it's easier to adjust your schedule to theirs. This meant sleeping during the day and hunting at night. Now, as a human, the transition... wasn't actually all that hard; however, Kida seemed to drift between the daytime and the nighttime, often being awake for both. She slept in the hours in between her comings and goings - the occasional times when she wasn't busy. On average, she got about six hours of sleep, but normally not in succession of each other. Either way, Kida often felt perfectly awake, having grown accustomed to the sporadic lifestyle of a vampire hunter. So tomorrow morning she probably would not be out hunting at all, instead sleeping in her bed and catching a few hours of rest before getting up and seeing what else there was to be done. It was how all hunters operated for the most part - it was one of the job conditions.

As soon as the vampire let go of her wrist, Kida stepped away from him, preparing for an oncoming attack. Vampires were slippery creatures, almost like the embodiment of a fox; unpredictable. Getting a bit of space between them would probably prove to be a very good idea. With a gun in one hand and a blessed blade in the other, Kida felt quite confident in herself and her acquired abilities. Fighting off - and hopefully killing - this vampire would be a piece of cake if things all went according to plan. A glance at his fangs, and Kida smirked slightly. Removing those natural weapons would be easier than anything, just as long as she could get close enough.
"Then I guess this fight won't exactly be fair," she responded with a shrug. Not hitting her because she was a girl? She wasn't sure if she should be flattered or insulted, so she just shrugged it off. If she was willing to fight him, then it would only be fair for her to be okay with possibly getting hit herself. Though the goal was to get out of it with as few injuries as possible, she wasn't afraid to suffer a few.

Trying to keep her gaze on the vampire, Kida's gaze quickly attempted to keep up with his speedy movements. She wondered if a vampire could still move that fast if she broke its legs. An interesting theory... Perhaps she would try it out. Spinning around, Kida kept herself ready to strike at a moment's notice.

Now fully aware of what the huntress could do with her weapons, Reuben planned on avoiding them as best as he possibly could.  Honestly, Reuben underestimated the little huntress he’d managed to foolishly attract. He thought of possibly running was outrageous, it simply wouldn’t do. At this point in time he was far too involved in this little fight to disappear like a coward. Reuben was definitely no coward. Coming to a halt a metre away from the vicious woman he paused, wishing to remain quiet as he inspected the individual. A part of him thought he might have seen her prior to their meeting, although he didn’t put much thought into the idea. Yet she seemed to possess certain qualities that reminded him of a certain misses. Gosh, he wasn’t going to go thinking about that now, that would simply be a distraction.  “Certainly not love, in fact, one could say it was quite even now. Especially with you dancing around with those weapons,” Reuben pointed out, using a free hand to point towards the weapons in her hand. He was weary of the gun as he could, hopefully, if luck favoured his side for tonight. The only weapon he would be dealing with would be the blade and its skilful owner.

“Darling, if you’re going to attempt to kill me. May I know your name at the very least? It is only fair” Reuben asked, sparing a glance towards her gentle face. He’d decided that her looks were definitely deceiving. A small grin spread across his face as he realised that they were at one point, going around in circles. During that time his shoulder had slowly began to heal, the horrible burning sensation slowly fading away. The only evidence that he’d been struck by the blessed blade was the bloody patch around the area where the blade had been. Hunters would be perfect in the fashion industry, rolling his eyes at the thought he leaned forward ever so slightly.

Kida didn't let her gaze left the vampire, knowing that doing so could possibly mean her death. They were fast creatures, insanely fast, and taking care to remember that normally ended up helping in the long run. As for whether or not the fight was far, Kida honestly could not say she cared one way or another. Well, perhaps that was actually biased, because as long as the fight was uneven in such a way that allowed her the greatest advantage, she was definitely okay with it. The advantages of a vampire were the creature's strength, speed, and - of course - its fangs. She wondered how well a vampire would do without its fangs, how fast it could run with broken legs, and how much it could lift with fractured arms. It was a fairly amusing thought to contemplate, but she didn't focus on it long. She had a fight to win, and concentration was key.
Glancing to her weapons when the vampire, Reuben, mentioned them, Kida could only agree with him. With her weapons, Kida felt as though it made up for her human weakness. Vampires might have the inhuman qualities about them, but there was nothing human about a gun and a knife, either. With these in hand, Kida could rob most vampires of some of their strength. It could slow them down, distract them, kill them even - and then she won. The rules of the game were as easy as they were difficult; as simple as they were intricate. As a hunter, Kida had been playing the game for what felt like forever.

Should she give him her name? Kida couldn't see why not - it wasn't like he could do much with it anyway. A name was nothing more than a sound of identification, so she really didn't put much weight into it. Deciding that he should at least know her name, as he had told her his already, Kida shrugged a shoulder.
"Kida. My name is Kida," she finally said. Would he get a last name? Nope. It wasn't anything big, but all he really needed was a first name anyway.
