[♚] - district four; bre - [♚]

╒════════════════════════════╕
all the way from district four is an odd girl who goes by the
name of bre, bre taylor. she has never really been the type
of girl who would enjoy being involved in the hunger games
ceremony, not even to mention enjoying the thought that one
tiny slip of paper could change her life, maybe even kill her
if she is lucky. besides the hunger games, she works a very
important task in her district - selling fish to the capital. if
she has extra time, you could probably find her outside of
the district near the restricted areas, normally sitting with a
lot on her mind. she is very quiet and to herself, not really
interested into doing things with other people. just the thought
of it makes her not want to do it already. very rarely will she
try to communicate with someone, of course if she barely
knows them. if you're close friends with her, she will be very
bubbly and want to be as social as possible. her weapon of
choice would either be a dagger or throwing knives.

☠ Rieux - district nine ☠

Post  m o s h on Tue Dec 09, 2014 1:26 am

male - nineteen - district nine

Rieux Jean Lenz, a name commonly known about his district.
Rieux is a social butterfly, to say the least.
At first meeting, he won't hesitate to introduce himself, and make himself feel welcome.
Some say Rieux is selfish and crude, which isn't all false.
He can be that way to those he dislikes greatly, which happens oftenly.
Though, socializing is rare for him, as he is usually doing his district's job;
producing and selling grain.
He gets rather bored with it, as sometimes he can slack off on his job.
His father usually gets onto him for such actions; but he doesn't mind.
When he found out the hunger games was calling for him-
Rieux didn't know rather to feel scared, or grateful.
Grateful to be taken away from his boring district,
and into something greater,
or scared, for he could loose his life.
He hopes his good social skills, and charms will help him win,
for if not, he fears he won't ever get to live life how he wanted.

words tumbled out of her female mentor's mouth faster than the beating of bre's heart. she looked normal, besides her elegant blonde hair which touched the side of her waist. bre completely blocked out the other male tribute standing next to her, though her eyes wandered to him every few words her mentor spoke. 'was he just as scared?' she would think, yet, she wouldn't know because she wouldn't hear another word from him. his name was travis bails, and she has never said a word to him though he as attempted to speak to her. she would just ignore him, and now thinking of it, it probably wasn't the best idea she had floating in her brain. the fellow mentor's name was valerie, winner of the twenty-seventh hunger games - still standing young at the age of forty. valerie reached towards her, giving her a gental hug with bre returning the favor, gently applying pressure to the forty year old. "stay safe..please?" the mentor whispered to bre as she nodded slightly. the two tributes turned around and went inside their pods, waiting for the doors to shut and rise them up to what will be their death chamber.

darkness turned into faint, then watery brightness, and she imedientely looked around her. the cornucopia front was directly in front of her, leaving bre with the best view of what could be inside. her eyes locked directly on a backpack directly in the front of the cornucopia, along with a dagger that seemed to be on the front in a net. her eyes looked to the left where a guy -- district nine maybe? -- was standing and taking in his surroundings. but then she looked confused. the cornucopia was simply surrounded in grass with openings in the hedges that surrounded the tributes. off to the distance, she could see tropical trees and in another end just simply water. what was this place? behind her stood an open meadow, which she was planning on going towards. a male voice echoed throughout the arena which counted down from ten.

she leaped off of her platform; running straight towards the cornucopia. this she was probably going to regret, not to even mention how slowly she normally runs. her ears already echoed screams of other tributes that have been killed off already. she had finally come to the backpack which she placed on her back rather quickly as well as grabbing the dagger that was on the side of her bag. her mind directly told her to run. bre turned towards the opening which lead towards the meadow and started to run. she could hear the feet of the district nine boy following behind her, not knowing if he was planning on going after her for blood or for a descent hiding spot. either of those things never really bothered her, nor will they until he makes the first move against her.

            {sorry this is rather long, i wasn't sure where to stop, haha. i hope the first post was descent enough to post afterwards.}

"Come come, it is almost time." The voice of his mentor rung out, the tone sweet, yet urgent. Ushering them into the room, Rieux let the female tribute and mentor enter first, before he shortly followed after. Glancing around, he could see the pods he was to go into, and they would carry him to either his death, or future. "I surely hope you don't die off too fast." A female voice purred next to him, pressing her body closer to him. She was the female tribute of district nine, and a surprisingly flirty one at that. Scanning over her body, Rieux noticed her gracefully curly blonde hair, falling just at her shoulders. A wicked smile tugged at her lips; while a mischievous look glinted in her eyes. Her name was Ismae, and she seemed to do whatever she could to get attention. 'Surely that wouldn't be good for her out in the arena?' He thought to himself, averting his gaze slightly. "I wish the same for you, Ismae." Rieux voiced, his tone deep and casted off, his thoughts seeming to take over. Fumbling with his fingers slightly, he pushed his gaze onto his mentor, watching her frame sway the smallest bit. His mentor was the winner of the 23rd annual hunger games, slowly reaching her age of fifty. "You both remember all the training?" She rushed to assure herself, glancing at them with worried, motherly looks. The look itself could bring Rieux down, for he had only seen that motherly look on his own mother's face, right on her death bed.

The next thing he knew, he was in the pod. Taking deep breaths, Rieux calmed himself, glancing slightly to Ismae. he knew she wouldn't go after him immediately, but he didn't doubt she wasn't a threat. "Be safe!" Were the last words he heard from his mentor before the pod lifted them up. Darkness surrounded him, before the faintest light seeped in, and then, the arena. Squinting slightly to adjust his eyes, Rieux instantly began to take in his surroundings. It was all new to him, as it made him feel anxious. Soon, his eyes locked on the cornucopia. Peering into what was inside, he then heard the count down. Gazing next to him, he saw another girl. 'What district is she from?' he thought, gazing her over before he heard the final count, and then, they were all off. The girl next to him took off, a look of determination on her face. 'That could easily throw my game off.' he thought,  soon chasing after to the cornucopia, having found sight of a bag with an machete. Snatching it up, he looked all around him, seeing Ismae running off and away from a guy pursuing her. "You're on your own, Ismae." he thought to himself quickly gathering his footing and running. He soon found he was going in the direction the other girl did, and decided that he could attempt to take her out first, an easy kill, maybe? Slowing his pace in the chase slightly, Rieux decided to follow her from a distance, let her get comfortable, set a camp, then strike.

shadows from the hedges laid out on the grass of the arena. all she knew was to follow the electronic sun which would probably lead to an area for her to settle in. the thing about the whole 'maze' part was getting lost and getting killed very easily. it was one of the last things that she wanted to think about even though it was probably going to happen to her. her breaths were fast and heavy - she never ran as far and as hard as she had before since there was already someone following her.

as she ran the corner, she felt something hit her - another person maybe? bre's eyes met another tributes, maybe two? the tribute brought himself up in a hurry and ran the opposite way as her. she could feel a sharp pain against her upper thigh. "dammit.." she told herself before seeing an opening for what seemed like the open meadow she was hoping to find in the beginning.she entered the meadow in a hurry, limping slightly on her leg.

bre ran another few minutes into the meadow before she sat down and took in heavy quick breaths. her eyes made her way down to her leg, seeing a knife wound. "great..just great." she breathed, putting her hand over the cut. she heard the cannon go off, signaling the fallen tributes - five dead. bre took off her backpack and looked in it, seeing what she was able to get from the cornucopia - a empty water bottle, a pack of dried beef, box of matches, and a thin sleeping bag. her eyes shot up at the sound of someone's steps, noticing a figure to the left of her. was it the tribute following her? she tightened the grip on her dagger, but remained sitting down. she knew that if the district nine tribute were to attack her now, she would die instantly. her injured leg moved to the opposite side of the tribute as she began to slowly back away.

☠ post two ☠

Post  m o s h on Thu Dec 11, 2014 2:25 am

His breaths were becoming heavier, his muscles soon aching. He wasn't the best at running, as keeping a certain pace was hard enough for him to do. Though, he kept his gaze locked on the area in front of him, being able to see on the ground where the other girl ran off too. Should he really go after her? Rieux knew there were many tough tributes this year- and if she was as determined to win just like he was, he needed to get rid of her, before she did to him.Walking, Rieux soon heard the canons- one, Rieux looked up to the sun, the fake thing taunting him. Two, he brought his hand to his face, wiping his brow of sweat. Three, there was a rustling behind him, making him alert, and slightly scared. Four, it became deathly silent, his breathing the only noise to drum through his ears. Five, he felt a blow to his stomach. Grunting, Rieux doubled over, his head snapping up to see Ismae. How had she found him? Wasn't she being chased herself? He watched as her arm came up once more; a knife ready to be driven into his skin. Throwing himself back in the last second, he landed hard on the ground rolling, he soon stood. He grasped at his machete quickly, drawing it out and holding it up threateningly. "You really need to work on your fighting strategies." he spoke out to his, his voice taunting and deep, using his knowledge of her training against her. Ismae glowered at him, she let out a short laugh, and then sprinted in the other direction. Frowning, Rieux lowered his weapon to his side, now knowing he had a target on his back, one from his very own district.

Rieux didn't spend much time thinking over the attack; for he still needed to be on the other girl's trail. Rieux was a good tracker; one of his main talents besides battle. He could see the dents on the ground as he walked forward, obviously knowing they were from her. As he continued, his soon saw a larger dent; along with a few drops of blood. Frowning, he knew someone else but of gotten to her, or at least injured her. Quickening his pace, he held his machete near his side tighter, his stomach throbbing slightly from the blow Ismae had given him, but it wasn't as worse as what a knife wound would of been.

That's when he saw her, in the meadow, sitting and observing her wound. It looked painful; but nothing that could kill her, surely? Rieux tried staying quiet, but as her gaze snapped over in his direction, he knew he was found. Taking in a breath, Rieux tried to decide what his next action would be. Attack? Ally? He wasn't sure, but if he really wanted to take her life, he could easily, for her injury only made her bait. Rieux slowly backed up further into his hiding place, now making sure his moves were silent; undetectable. He moved himself about, soon being in the bush behind her. Then, he slowly eased forward, exiting the bush. He quietly lifted his machete, then, sprung forward. His hands one of his hands instantly went at her neck, drawing i back to his chest with a great amount of force, while his machete soon went to her neck, pressing against his, yet not hard enough to draw blood, yet. He caught sight of the dagger near her hip, and with his foot, he kicked it aside, leaving her weaponless. "What is your district?" he spoke out, his tone deep and smooth, the words easily spoken, while he tightened his grip.

bre paid attention to the tribute behind her, looking as threatening as ever with the machete he held. she eyed it, looking at the sharp end of the blade and then looked back at him. he quickly kicked the dagger out of her hand as he put the blade against her neck. the beat of her heart was quicker than the short breaths she took as she could feel the blade slightly touch her neck. it was terrifying, it was awful. she even thought she was going to die at that exact moment.

at first, she refused to speak, but it only made the tension between the two tributes worse. she noticed her dagger a few feet away from her. her foot reached out for it, yet it made the machete come closer to her neck. "spare me, please! i mean you no harm!" she said, already feeling the blade of the machete coming closer to her neck.

"nine, nine. district nine!" she said quickly. her eyes trailed up so she was able to see his face, but all she saw was a brown strand of hair along with a small look at his eyes. bre moved her hand to his wrist from where he was holding the machete, trying to force the machete away from her neck. yet, it wouldn't budge no matter how much she had attempted to move it.

bre thought for a moment, and began to feel his wrist. as she did, she noticed a vein sticking out of it. her thumb pressed down his vein, bringing a sharp pain run through his arm. she then pushed the machete away from her neck and moved towards the dagger she had before, holding it close to her face. "leave, just leave." she said, her voice dry and heavy.

Sweat was forming on his brow again, and Rieux wanted nothing more than to wipe it off, but his hands were currently occupied. Trying to keep his grip tight, and not hurt her too much, was a struggle for him. Though, his problems seemed to increase when  he felt a sharp pain in his wrist, traveling up his arm. Yelling out, his arms moved away from her, his hand still holding the machete. Clenching his jaw, Rieux held his wrist, it throbbing in pain. What had she even down? Hit a vein or something? Shaking his head, he glared at her, yet couldn't help but to hear what district she was from. "What did you say?" he questioned, knowing good and well she couldn't be from district nine. Was she trying to trick him? Of course she didn't know what district he was from- maybe he could play along with it. His eyes snapped over to the dagger she now had in hand, watching it skeptically. He knew that if they were to get in a battle now, they both would have equal chances at winning. Raising his machete slightly, he gazed at her, seeing the dirt that covered over one of her cheeks from the brief fight; or maybe it was the earlier one where she got her injury from? Her hair seemed rustled up, as he knew there must be tangles. She was a pretty thing, but pretty things were all the more dangerous. 'Like damn Ismae.' he thought,  his mind going to the thought of his probably now bruised stomach.

"What allies do you have?" he came quick to ask, wanting to make sure there weren't any hidden tributes about, ready to jump at his throat. He didn't see anyone follower her- except for him. But they could always be on their way, ready to kill.  His gaze stayed trained on her, his weight shifting. His machete pointed upwards, ready to strike at her if needed. He didn't really want to kill anyone, but, it wasn't like he had that choice anymore.
